Indentification: White - Sodium based flux.

Procedure: As an electrode: Use DC reverse only. Clean the weld surface as good as possible using a stainless steel brush that has not been used on any iron. Bevel and preheat thick sections. Maintain a close, almost a chocking arc, at the higher portion of the amperage range then as base metal temperature rises, reduce amperage setting. As a Brazing alloy: Clean weld surface as above. Using a carbonizing flame, heat base metal until it starts to sag then, using an on and off method to keep the heat near melting point, add the alloy until repair is made.
